It’s only been a few weeks since the launch of Armored Core VI, and we already have a new patch to help balance the singleplayer, with the main focus seemingly on making the game more accessible and humane to newer players.
Amidst a bunch of bug fixes, we also have some nice weapons balancing buffs for rifles and machine guns as well as some changes to some of the game’s bosses. Here are the patch notes.
A new patch has been distributed to improve gameplay stability and make balance adjustments. Please apply the latest patch before playing the game.
Please note that this patch is focused on balance adjustments that will allow players more build diversity in the early and mid-game when assembling their AC, as well as bug fixes.
PvP oriented balance adjustments will be released at a future date.

Firstly, this is purely a singleplayer patch, which shows that that the singleplayer and multiplayer backend stats are separated out (this is a good thing, for lots of obvious reasons). Secondly, instead of nerfing a bunch of weapons, like the shotguns for instance, the development team has rightly chosen to improve more of the starting weapons to make them more useful.
As for the bosses, and I say this as someone that has S Ranked the game before the patch went live, I am entirely behind making these bosses more manageable. While I may be a gaming masochist, these bosses needed toning down.
I checked them out last night and they are definitely less aggressive and easier to deal with. Again, I think this change is a good and necessary one, and I certainly don’t feel cheated after unlocking all the games trophies/achievements.
The only oversight here is that the initial tutorial level boss hasn’t been touched. I think a simple prompt, like others in the mission, that just instructs the player to stun the helicopter and use their laserblade would probably help alleviate most issues newer players face with the level.
Finally, if you want more details on the actual changes to the above weapons, then this post on Reddit gives a nice breakdown of what’s been updated.
