Watch A Scantily Clad Megan Fox Read ‘Diablo 4’ Eulogies For Ridiculous #DiabloDeaths Gimmick

I’m not sure that Blizzard really needs to employ viral marketing gimmicks to advertise the launch of Diablo IV, but that isn’t stopping the company. Yesterday, Megan Fox appeared on Diablo Twitter feed in a skimpy black-and-net corset holding a skull to announce the #DiabloDeaths campaign.

In short, players were tasked with posting their in-game deaths to Twitter using the #DiabloDeaths hashtag. Blizzard would then post model and actor Megan Fox reading a eulogy for the character in a video quote tweet, wearing the above outfit and holding various dungeon-delving props like swords and axes. But mostly just not wearing much of anything while describing Diablo IV deaths in an alluring voice. Which is funny because Diablo deaths are actually . . . pretty boring as far as video game deaths go.

Anyways, most of these eulogies are clearly generic and pre-taped. Fox often describes the dead character as “Rogue” or “Sorcerer” rather than by the player’s handle. But for several of the more famous gamers out there, Blizzard writes the eulogies with a more personal mention.

For instance, popular content creator Dr. Lupo gets this personalized Megan Fox eulogy:

Streamer Rhykker and his signature hat also gets a personalized reading: “Rest in peace, Rhykker,” Fox says. “You were brave, you were strong, you were messily torn apart by demons before your time. We’ll make sure your hat makes it into your coffin.”

“Towelliee?” Fox croons. “Yeah, we’re gonna need a towellie for the mess you’ve made.”

But most of the readings were clearly pre-recorded and randomly handed out to various players using the #DiabloDeaths hashtag:

“Good job Rogue” is definitely not specific:

I suppose that’s just the logistics of something like this. Blizzard probably recorded all of these ahead of time, picking a few streamers they knew would participate and then doled them out afterwards. Not quite as fun as if she’d actually read out each players’ name but again, this is just a silly marketing gimmick to begin with. I hope Megan Fox made a bundle of cash on this ridiculous stunt.
