EA is listening closely to community feedback on Madden 24.
I wrote an article addressing the toned-down on-field sound effects in Madden 24 and apparently, I wasn’t the only one feeling a void.
In case you’ve been playing Madden 24 and feeling as if something was missing from the audio presentation, you’re not crazy. The Madden development team made the decision to augment the crowd audio, but it appears a change is on the way.
A representative from EA reached out to me with a response from the game’s development team.
It reads:
“EA SPORTS and the Madden NFL 24 team welcome feedback from the community. In Madden NFL 24 we made the choice to enhance the Crowd Audio to reward players for their play, however, we will be tuning this in a future update to add more emphasis to the on-field audio.”
I knew I wasn’t crazy.
Something felt off and while it has been fun to play Madden 24 so far, something was missing. EA didn’t give a date for the “future update,” which is understandable as the contents of the first patch or two have probably been defined for a few weeks.
EA is likely working to pop this patch into the earliest potential update.
I will be keeping an eye out for the upcoming Gridiron Notes in hopes of gaining some further details on the plan to tackle this issue.
It’s refreshing to see EA promptly addressing community concerns. If EA can get something in place by Week 1 of the regular season, that would be excellent.
However, if we have to wait months for this update, the swift response might be forgotten by most users, and the update could have less of an impact.
I’m still playing through multiple modes of Madden 24. I’ll continue to pass on assessments and takeaways from the game as I get more acquainted with the newest version.
Madden 24 doesn’t officially release beyond the early access period until August 18.
