Diablo IV has already been out in Early Access for the past week, but Blizzard is about to open its hellish floodgates with a full launch kicking off later today. This launch will be for anyone who purchases the game, not just pre-order customers.
Of course, it’s very likely that the majority of day-one players were pre-order customers, so it may not be a huge influx of new Rogues, Barbarians, Necromancers, Druids and Sorcerers today. The real question is whether the servers will withstand the tidal wave of new players or not.
My guess is that things will go quite smoothly. Early Access is the trial run and other than some errors on PS5, it went remarkably well. Hopefully that holds true today. Given that Blizzard already released a major patch, it seems even likelier that bugs and other issues will be all sorted out by the time the game officially releases.

The full global launch of Diablo IV will take place on June 5th and 6th depending on your region, and mirrors the exact same times as Early Access:
- June 5th @ 4pm PDT
- June 5th @ 7pm EDT
- June 5th @ 8pm BRT
- June 6th @ 12am BST
- June 6th @ 1am CEST
- June 6th @ 8am KST
- June 6th @ 9am AEST
- June 6th @ 11am NZST
Diablo IV is scoring extremely well with critics. Our own Paul Tassi wrote in his review:
My impressions are overwhelmingly positive based on what I’ve experienced so far, from the map to the gameplay to the new systems to even the story, which I was not expecting. Blizzard really seems like it’s nailed this, and I’m going to say the only way this will be poorly received at launch is if technical issues kill people’s ability to play. But once it gets rolling? Yes, I think you’re going to like Diablo 4.
Diablo IV launches June 5th/6th on PC (Battle.net), PlayStation and Xbox with full cross-play and cross-progression.
