With Armored Core VI finally in the wild, we’ve received another breakdown video and a new trailer featuring Karl Urban.
If you are surprised to see Karl Urban enthuse about mecha, then you will be even more surprised to know that he has a bit of a history in this department.
Back in 2003, Urban visited Japan with Viggo Mortensen and bought a lot of Gundam toys, with one of them being the Ex-S Gundam from Gundam Sentinel. So we know he has excellent taste (shown below).
The other cool thing about this trailer is the reveal of the specific armored core at the end.
The pilot’s callsign is Raven and you steal it at the start of the game. There are some other interesting story beats about this pilot later on in the game too.
However, what’s interesting here is that this trailer infers that Urban is the pilot, which is all kinds of awesome if true.
The reaction to Armored Core VI has also been massive, with the current player count on Steam being over 120k. The reviews have also been very positive, mainly because games journalists can no longer hide behind a game being too difficult anymore.
