New Documents Confirm Pixel Watch 2 Details

While the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro will lead Google’s next wave of home-grown Android smartphones, the second Pixel Watch will demonstrate what comes next for Android wearables. Thanks to government certification, its arrival looks imminent.

Following on from the Pixel Watch 2’s internal name (Eos) showing up on the Google Play Console, essentially preparing developers for the wearable to be available to the public, the second Pixel wearable has picked up certification in a number of territories.

Last week the American FCC listed three Pixel Watch 2 models; one running Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, a second adding in two LTE bands, and a third that opened up a wide range of LTE bands. What’s missing is the previously rumoured inclusion of any Ultra Wideband hardware; the Pixel Watch 2 will have to suffice with Bluetooth.

The second certification comes from Singapore’s regulatory authority, the IMDA. This listing highlights Google branding, describing it as “Smartwatch With WiFi 2.4G bgn + BT”.

While regulatory listings do not include launch dates, manufacturers tend to leave their submissions until late in the process. This suggests that the Pixel Watch 2 is going to arrive sooner rather than later.
