New Shows And Movies To Stream This Weekend On Netflix, Hulu, Apple TV, Amazon Prime And More

Another weekend, another batch of shows and movies to dig into on all your favorite streaming platforms.

There’s not a ton of new stuff out this weekend, but don’t mistake quantity for quality. There are a couple really awesome spinoffs of other popular shows dropping on Netflix and Amazon, and a pretty heartwarming indie film landing on Apple TV.

Let’s dive right in. Here’s everything new and continuing to stream this weekend on all your favorite streaming platforms.

Castlevania Nocturne (Netflix)

If you loved Castlevania on Netflix (or the video games, or both) you’ll already be excited to bite your fangs into this gorgeous-looking spinoff set during the French Revolution. Castlevania Nocturne features the origin story of Richter Belmont and a whole new story of vampire hunting and depravity. Yummy.

Gen V (Amazon Prime)

If you like the snarky, gory, X-rated superhero black comedy The Boys, you’ll definitely want to tune in for Gen V, the new spinoff that’s set in the same universe. It’s basically The Boys meets Harry Potter, taking place at Godolkin University School of Crimefighting, where supes are educated in becoming, well, superheroes (and generally awful human beings). It’s rocking a 96% on Rotten Tomatoes right now, so I have high hopes.

Flora and Son (Apple TV)

This wasn’t on my radar at all but it looks surprisingly great. As a single father of a teenage daughter, both of whom play guitar and write songs, this looks like a heartwarming dose of reality. And it’s Irish, and I love the Irish.

I’m currently watching Only Murders In The Building Season 3 and just finished Season 2 of Reservation Dogs. Both of these shows are absolutely terrific.

I’m also reviewing both Ahsoka which has its final episode this week and The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon. I have mixed feelings about both these shows, though Ahsoka is mostly really good now (after a lackluster first three episodes) though it still has some problems.

Daryl Dixon has been a mixed bag. Its first episode was bad. Its second episode was genuinely great. Then its third episode was bad again. Will episode 4 be any good? We shall see this Sunday!
