New TV Shows And Movies To Stream This Weekend On Netflix, Disney Plus, Apple TV, Max, Paramount, Peacock And More

It’s Friday the 13th in mid-October and if that’s not a creepy prelude to Halloween, I don’t know what is.

It’s fitting, then, that we have at least a couple new streaming options to tap into this spookiest of seasons. If horror isn’t your thing, there are options.

Let’s dive right in. Here’s everything new to stream this weekend on Netflix, Disney+, Max and more.

New & Recurring Streaming Shows

We’ll start with the scary stuff!

The Fall Of The House Of Usher (Netflix)

Mike Flanagan returns to Netflix with yet another horror-drama limited series, this time based on the stories of Edgar Allen Poe. The modern take on these chilling classics is reviewing about as well as Midnight Mass, Flanagan’s last project (which I quite liked). This is out now on Netflix.

Goosebumps (Disney+)

R.L. Stine is right up there with Stephen King when it comes to the big names of horror fiction, though Stine’s work is geared toward a younger audience for the most part. Goosebumps was made into a great series in the 90s’ as well as a handful of movies over the years, and now we get a scary new reboot on Disney+ which is also reviewing fairly well with both critics and audiences.

John Carpenter’s Suburban Screams (Peacock)

This is a pretty good trailer because it makes John Carpenter’s Suburban Screams look pretty damn frightening. The only thing more frightening is the Rotten Tomatoes score, which currently sits at 22% with critics (no audience reviews are up yet). It could still be good, but that low of an average does not bode well. The first season is out now on Peacock.

Frasier (Paramount+)

Kelsey Grammer returns to reprise his most famous and beloved role as an older, greyer, but still as pompous and hilarious as ever Dr. Frasier Crane. He’s left Seattle behind and made his way to Boston, though he’s the only one from the old show to make the cut. The first two episodes are out now on Paramount+.

Lessons In Chemistry (Apple TV+)

Brie Larson stars as Elizabeth Zott, a scientist in the 1960s’ whose work isn’t taken seriously because she’s a woman. She ends up becoming a host of a cooking show. It’s based on the novel of the same name by Bonnie Garmus, whose own experiences. The first two episodes are live on Apple TV+ now.

Rick and Morty Season 7 (Adult Swim)

This is not quite out this weekend, but the Justin Roiland-free new season of Adult Swim’s absurd Rick and Morty does drop this coming Tuesday. I think the new voice actors are doing a bang-up job in the above trailer.

Daryl Dixon Season Finale (AMC)

The final episode of The Walking Dead’s new spinoff Daryl Dixon airs this Sunday evening on AMC and AMC+. This show, despite its promising production values and compelling star, continues to be a disappointment but I’m hoping for something exciting to wrap the season up. Oh, and Carol is coming back for Season 2!

Loki Season 2 (Disney+)

The adventures of the marvelous god Loki (Tom Hiddelston) continue weekly on Disney+. I really need to catch up on this show! I will as soon as I’m done watching The Wheel Of Time Season 2 which, I have to say, is completely blowing away my expectations. I’ll have more to say on that front soon.

What are you watching these days? Anything I missed? Let me know on Twitter or Facebook.
