In case you missed Wednesday’s NYT Mini, you can find the answers here:

Wondering what button might make a “whoosh” sound? Not sure what a tiny cotton swab might be? Don’t worry, because I’m here to help you with some extra clues and the answers for today’s NYT Mini crossword.

The NYT Mini is a quick and dirty version of the newspaper’s larger and long-running crossword. Most days, there are between three and five clues in each direction on a five by five grid, but the puzzles are sometimes larger, especially on Saturdays.

Unlike its larger sibling, the NYT Mini crossword is free to play on the New York Times website or NYT Games app. However, you’ll need an NYT Games subscription to access previous puzzles in the archives.

NYT Mini Crossword Clues And Answers

NYT Mini Across Answers

1 Across: Tiny cotton swab – Q-TIP

5 Across: Leaves on the stove too long – BURNS

6 Across: They’re used to hunt and peck – BEAKS

7 Across: “I’m trying to focus here!” – QUIET

8 Across: Button that might make a “Whoosh!” sound – SEND

NYT Mini Down Answers

1 Down: Word pronounced like its first letter (which is followed by four vowels) – QUEUE

2 Down: Feature of an extravagant wedding dress – TRAIN

3 Down: Signed, as a contract – INKED

4 Down: Verbal alternative to a tap on the shoulder – PSST

5 Down: Some backyard parties, for short – BBQS

It took me 0:33 to complete today’s NYT Mini.

Q-TIP and BURNS were all I got on my first pass of the Across words. Those were super helpful though, as I was able to get all of the Down answers. Except for BBQS, that it. However, I was able to fill in the blanks of the other Across answers for a decently quick win.

See you tomorrow for more NYT Mini fun!
