Blizzard is trying something a little different with its latest Overwatch 2 cinematic short. Instead of debuting on YouTube, the short film is premiering inside the game. Whether that leads to folks sticking around and perhaps finishing their Season 5 Battle Pass remains to be seen. In any case, fans will definitely want to check out this one as it continues Blizzard’s excellent lineage of high-quality Overwatch 2 animated shorts.
The star of the show this time around is Sojourn. Actually, that’s debatable, given how absolutely adorable her dog Murphy is.
The short opens with Sojourn simply living her life in Toronto, grabbing coffee while taking Murphy for a walk. It’s not a spoiler to say things don’t stay that tranquil for long. I don’t want to give much more away since it’s a great short that’s worth experiencing for yourself, but I will say it ties into the launch of Overwatch 2: Invasion next week.
You can check out the latest Overwatch 2 animated short in-game right now (and maybe play a match or two while you’re there). Alternatively, I’m sure the short will pop up on the likes of YouTube fairly soon.
