Samsung Leak Exposes All-New Galaxy S24+ Design Changes

Samsung’s flagship Galaxy S24 family of handsets are expected to arrive in early 2024, but the latest details on the Galaxy S24+ show the new design language the South Korean company is bringing to market. Our best look yet at the flagship comes from Steve Hemmerstoffer at @OnLeaks in partnership with GizNext. Along with a 360-degree video, we now have 5K renders and sizing on the Galaxy S24+.

Of note, Samsung will be using a 6.7-inch flat screen on the Galaxy S24+, and continuing that flat profile at the rear of the handset (not counting the camera lenses, naturally). We have a flat and angular smartphone with a hint of chafer over the edges and rounded corners, albeit with a small radius.

The main camera consists of three lenses, and these are standalone lenses – no island, no bar, no grouping them in a large induction plate-styled circle. Three lenses, three isolated raised circles, and a relocated embedded LED flash separate them.

We don’t have details on the camera system, sensors, lenses, or software. These will no doubt be under development, but with a launch not expected until February 2024 (although there are mutterings of a potential early January event), there’s plenty of time for the software to be polished (and no doubt details on the camera subsystems will show up in time).

Hemmerstoffer and Sarkar also highlight the new design language for the S24 family has resulted in a new position for the Ultra Wideband antenna. UWB has several uses thanks to its high bandwidth for transmitting data over very short distances; it’s an excellent tool for the relative positioning of connected devices and works well with geolocation tags and paired peripherals.

With Samsung celebrating its place as the top Android handset manufacturer in the US, it will be looking to set the standard early in 2024 to continue that dominance.
