Samsung’s All-New Galaxy S26 Upgrade—This Changes Android

This is a game-changer. Side-lining better battery life and cameras, it could be one of the best reasons to upgrade your smartphone in years. It is now looking like Samsung’s Galaxy S26 release comes with an unbeatable feature even iPhone can’t match.

As revealed by SammyGuru and a leaker on X, Samsung’s new Privacy Display mode is as good as hoped. “If you activate the Auto Privacy mode, it will automatically use Private Display when you use sensitive apps or when you are in crowded places.”

That’s not all. The new options include “Custom Conditions,” which enable you to define where and when you want to keep your screen to yourself, and “Maximum Privacy,” which brings “even stronger protection, making the screen dimmer than usual.”

Samsung’s Privacy Display combines physical upgrades in display technology with a software upgrade to ensure the content of your phone’s screen is for your eyes only. It even includes triggers, which could be public places where you’d want your phone to adapt, or types of content on-screen, when the phone reacts to what’s on display.

This comes in addition to Samsung’s new Privacy Protection, also due with One UI 8.5. Per SamMobile, this “can automatically blur or redact sensitive information from in images when you are sharing them. For example, when you share your driving license or passport with someone, you can choose to hide sensitive information.”

As screens get ever larger and ever brighter, this marks a new generation in content security that will hopefully become a standard on all flagships. We all know that when using smartphones on planes or trains or in restaurants or cafes, it’s all too easy for those around us to casually watch what we do. This ends that.

Samsung is embattled at the moment, with its aggressive albeit delayed One UI 8 schedule still hogging headlines. A market-leading One UI 8.5 upgrade billed as coming soon will be a boost for users. That said, the full privacy display feature requires new hardware and so will not be coming to any current flagships.
