In case you missed Monday’s NYT Mini Crossword puzzle, you can find the answers here:

Over on my Wordle guide I have the weekly Wordle Wednesday puzzle if you’re interested in an extra challenge. If you’d rather just solve this Mini Crossword, let’s get right to it!

The NYT Mini is a smaller, quicker, more digestible, bite-sized version of the larger and more challenging NYT Crossword, and unlike its larger sibling, it’s free-to-play without a subscription to The New York Times. You can play it on the web or the app, though you’ll need the app to tackle the archive.

Spoilers ahead! Here’s the first letter of each word.

Across

1A. For this, you’ll be swimming with the fishes — starts with the first letter S

6A. Birth-related — starts with the first letter N

Play Puzzles & Games on Forbes

7A. “They’re in for ___ awakening!” — starts with the first letter A

8A. “Cut” shortcut, on PCs — starts with the first letter C

9A. Nairobi is its capital — starts with the first letter K

Down

1D. Quick bite — starts with the first letter S

2D. À la ___ — starts with the first letter C

3D. Maneuver done from the left lane only — starts with the first letter U

4D. In the worst way — starts with the first letter B

5D. Whom to tell “Turn off the lights” or “Play some music” — starts with the first letter A

Spoilers ahead! Read on for all of today’s Mini Crossword answers.

Across

1A. For this, you’ll be swimming with the fishes — SCUBA

6A. Birth-related — NATAL

7A. “They’re in for ___ awakening!” — A RUDE

8A. “Cut” shortcut, on PCs — CTRL

9A. Nairobi is its capital — KENYA

Down

1D. Quick bite — SNACK

2D. À la ___ — CARTE

3D. Maneuver done from the left lane only — UTURN

4D. In the worst way — BADLY

5D. Whom to tell “Turn off the lights” or “Play some music” — ALEXA

Here are all the words on the grid:

This one took me exactly one minute and even though a lot of the answers are a bit outside the box — ARUDE is not a word, for instance, and CTRL X is something only PC users would know — I pretty much breezed through it.

How did you do? Let me know on Twitter, Instagram or Facebook.

If you also play Wordle, I write guides about that as well. You can find those and all my TV guides, reviews and much more here on my blog. Thanks for reading!
