Happy Saturday, gang! Hope you’ve got a most wonderful weekend lined up. I have a few odds and ends to tie up at my old apartment, so that’s going to take up much of my day. Anyway, hints and the answers for today’s Quordle words are coming right up.
How To Play Quordle
For any newcomers joining us, here’s how to play Quordle: Just start typing in words. You have four five-letter words to guess and nine attempts to find them all. The catch is that you play all four words simultaneously.
If you get a letter in the right place for any of the four words, it will light up in green. If a word contains a letter from one of your guesses but it’s in the wrong place, it will appear in yellow. You could always check out the practice games before taking on the daily puzzle.

- Word 1 (top left) hint — to keep someone on a tight [blank] means you closely control their actions
- Word 2 (top right) hint — messily spread a greasy or sticky substance on something
- Word 3 (bottom left) hint — adjective relating to something that forms the base layer of an object or organism
- Word 4 (bottom right) hint — 1993 movie starring Julia Roberts and Denzel Washington called The Pelican [blank]
- One of the words has a pair of repeated letters
