Today’s ‘Wordle’ #1403 Hints, Clues And Answer For Tuesday, April 22nd

Looking for Monday’s Wordle hints, clues and answer? You can find them here:

Today is kind of a big deal because the second season of Andor releases its first three episodes on Disney+. As someone who believes this is one of the greatest Star Wars stories of all time—and frankly one of the best TV shows I’ve ever seen—I’m excited. Of course, I’ve already watched the entire season (here’s my spoiler-free review) but I enjoyed it so much I’m just happy to watch it all over again. Of course, before I can do that we have a Wordle to solve. Let’s solve it!

How To Solve Today’s Wordle

The Hint: Creative, or at least into creative things.

The Clue: This Wordle begins with a vowel.

Okay, spoilers below!

The Answer:

Wordle Analysis

Every day I check Wordle Bot to help analyze my guessing game. You can check your Wordles with Wordle Bot right here.

SPOIL wasn’t bad, leaving me with just 129 remaining solutions, but it wasn’t great, either. I turned one yellow box into three with CASTE but unfortunately still had six possible solutions. I thought of a few: TRASH, ANGST, ARTSY . . . but went with TRASH which, I might add, was trash. Alas, the Wordle was ARTSY.

Competitive Wordle Score

I get 0 points for guessing in four and -1 for losing to the Bot. The Bot gets +1 for beating me and +1 for guessing in three. This brings our totals for April to:

Erik: 11 points

Wordle Bot: 12 points

The Bot regains the lead! This is neck-and-neck!

How To Play Competitive Wordle

  • Guessing in 1 is worth 3 points; guessing in 2 is worth 2 points; guessing in 3 is worth 1 point; guessing in 4 is worth 0 points; guessing in 5 is -1 points; guessing in 6 is -2 points and missing the Wordle is -3 points.
  • If you beat your opponent you get 1 point. If you tie, you get 0 points. And if you lose to your opponent, you get -1 point. Add it up to get your score. Keep a daily running score or just play for a new score each day.
  • Fridays are 2XP, meaning you double your points—positive or negative.
  • You can keep a running tally or just play day-by-day. Enjoy!

Today’s Wordle Etymology

The word artsy is an informal derivative of art, formed by adding the suffix -sy (a variation of -y) to suggest a pretentious or affected artistic quality. It originated in American English around the 1900s, often with a slightly derogatory tone—implying someone is trying too hard to be artistic.
