Six Useful Ways To Repurpose Your Blogs

By Jared Atchison, co-founder of WPForms, a drag-and-drop form builder for WordPress that’s used on over 4,000,000 websites.

No matter how good you are at it, creating fresh and relevant content day in and day out is easier said than done. Content creation is an intricate and time-consuming process. So it’s often difficult to maintain the quality of the content while keeping up with a demanding schedule.

Fortunately, you don’t need to create content from scratch every time. You can simply repurpose the content you already have and create something entirely new for your target audience. Let’s dive into the various ways this can be done with blogs as an example.

1. Videos

You can use your blogs to create educational video content for your target audience and generate traction through leading platforms such as YouTube. Visual content typically requires research for a script before you shoot the footage or animate the content. So your blogs may come in handy here since you have already done your research for the blogs. You won’t have to do it all over again to pull off a decent video.

For example, if you have a how-to post published on your website that covers the steps for starting a blog from scratch, you can use this content as research material to create the script for your video. By doing this, you will be educating your audience through different platforms without being overwhelmed by the content creation process.

2. Podcasts

In my opinion, podcasting is a great way to convey your message to the masses and engage your target audience with ease. However, the idea of starting a podcast can be daunting for many, especially small businesses that have to make do with a limited budget.

Starting a podcast requires not only research but also an investment in the necessary equipment. Fortunately, there is an easy way to get started. Just choose a theme for your podcast that resonates with your niche, select a fitting name, identify relevant blog posts to create a script, hire a voiceover professional and you’re good to go.

3. Infographics

Infographics generally require a lot of research and fact-checking. However, they are an excellent type of content that can get you more eyeballs. Infographics are fueled by visuals and statistics, and to create them, you may need to explore different sources to gather relevant information.

This can be tedious and time-consuming. But it can be made easy if you use the information from your blogs instead. For example, if there is a blog published on your website with the title “100 Mind-Blowing SEO Statistics,” you can use the information in the blog to create a visually appealing infographic about SEO and save a lot of time.

4. E-Books

E-books can be created to educate the intended audience and generate traction. I find that they are excellent lead magnets that help you attract new prospects and fuel your sales funnel. E-books are generally detailed and encompass long-form content. Hence, they typically require more time and effort. Content curation can help you solve this problem, as you can use different educational blogs published on your website to create an e-book with ease.

All you have to do is find different posts that cover related or supporting topics. For example, you can combine posts covering various topics about starting a business and come up with an ultimate guide for aspiring entrepreneurs. This can help you save time and make the most of the value-generating content already published on your website.

5. Answers To Questions

The purpose of creating content is to help your audience find the answers they seek to make informed decisions. And making information accessible through your website is not the only way to help them.

Sometimes the best way to engage people is by interacting with them directly. Online communities play an active role here. You can leverage different platforms to interact with your audience directly and answer their questions yourself by simply curating the content from your blogs.

For example, a lot of people use Quora to find relevant information. You can submit your answers to their questions there by using information from relevant blogs. This can make it easier for you to educate and engage your target audience since you won’t have to create the content from scratch.

6. Social Media Content

To engage your target audience online, having a social media presence is essential. Being active on all social media platforms can be overwhelming, though, so you must identify the platforms readily preferred by your target audience and just be active there. However, this won’t be as easy as you think when an average person uses multiple social media platforms, and each platform encompasses different content types.

To prevent your content creation process from going into overdrive, you can repurpose your blogs there. Consider sharing statistics, expert opinions and relevant findings from your published content on platforms like Twitter. Or create engaging posts to be shared on Facebook. You can also use the images from your blogs to generate traction through platforms like Instagram and Pinterest.

This can help you maintain an active presence on channels best suited for your niche and engage the intended audience.

Final Words

Repurposing your content can save time and make it easier for you to engage your target audience. It allows you to optimally utilize the content you have already produced and drive maximum benefits from it.
