The first official information on EA UFC 5 was released on Tuesday, and so far, the details are consistent with what leaked last week.
EA confirmed that UFC Lightweight Champion, pound-for-pound king Alexander Volkanovski, and former UFC Women’s Flyweight Champion Valentina Shevchenko are the cover athletes for the standard edition.
UFC Middleweight champion Israel Adesanya is the cover athlete for the deluxe edition. Here is a look at both covers, which appear to feature in-game renders of all three fighters.
If this is an example of the fighter models, EA UFC 5 gameplay and footage will probably go viral for the first few weeks after its release.
These renders are likely a little touched-up, but impressive nonetheless.
We don’t know what will be included in each version, but expecting an early access period and pre-order bonuses with the deluxe edition makes sense.
We don’t know the official release date, but we will almost certainly learn this information on Sept. 7 when the game is set to be revealed on YouTube at the link below.
On Sept. 4, EA released this video showing former and current fighters like Daniel Cormier and Michael Chandler watching the reveal trailer. Something Cormier said was bleeped out wasn’t because of profanity.
It’s a tease at what could be the reveal of one of the pre-order bonus fighters. I’m no expert lip-reader, but it looks as if Cormier says, “they got Fedor?!”
That would also be consistent with the information that was leaked.
Hopefully, this holds, as Fedor Emelianenko would be a great addition to the game’s roster. In any case, look forward to a complete breakdown of the reveal on Sept. 7 after it goes live.
